The Ride for Missing Children

The Ride for Missing Children

As chairman of the Syracuse Ride for Missing Children, Jim is deeply involved in serving and protecting vulnerable children. This cause was inspired by a tragedy in 1985 when a little girl who was riding her bike home in Sauquoit, New York, never made it home. Her disappearance led to the organization of The Ride for Missing Children, a community fundraising effort that spreads awareness about missing children and promotes education to protect children. The annual bike ride (in Utica, Buffalo and Rochester) has become the biggest annual fundraiser for the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Through the efforts of this organization, nearly 9,000 children have been recovered.
