As the owner of JBS Asset Management, Jim believes that giving back is an essential part of living a happy, balanced life. Saving, spending and giving are important factors in creating an abundant life. That’s why he supports charities near and dear to his heart, and he encourages clients to give back to their communities in ways that support their values.
As chairman of the Syracuse Ride for Missing Children, Jim is deeply involved in serving and protecting vulnerable children. This cause was inspired by a tragedy in 1985 when a little girl who was riding her bike home in Sauquoit, New York, never made it home. Her disappearance led to the organization of The Ride for Missing Children, a community fundraising effort that spreads awareness about missing children and promotes education to protect children. The annual bike ride (in Utica, Buffalo and Rochester) has become the biggest annual fundraiser for the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Through the efforts of this organization, nearly 9,000 children have been recovered.
Jim supports Meals on Wheels, an organization dedicated to helping elderly people maintain their independence by providing regular meals for minimum cost. This charity not only helps seniors meet their nutritional needs but also provides vital social contact that reduces isolation. Jim donates resources to help this organization thrive in his community.
